MIDWAY'S NEWS
WINTER IS UPON US
As the cold weather approaches, special needs and cautions must be taken into consideration for our pets. Sometimes it's the little things we never think of that may be dangerous to our little family members. Our little dog friends love the taste of anti-freeze, it's like maple syrup to their little paletts, so extreme caution must be taked to insure they never ingest this toxic substance. Another winter nuisance is the thin layer of ice that may form on their outside water supply. This ice when licked, can give the same effect as a sharp razor to their mouth and tongue. Check their water every morning to insure the ice is removed.
Our feathered friends encounter quit different winter emergencies. Some of which include: The burn off from new space heaters. These heaters should be plugged in outside for at least an hour before using inside your home. Kerosine heaters are never recommended in a home with birds. Be sure to always keep a screen covering your fireplace and never allow flight in a room where there is a wood stove or ceiling fan in operation. We want to wish all of our furry and feathered friends, a safe and happy winter!
